Illuminating, valuable, a sign of the divine, wealth, sun, resistance...
The tree becomes a part of the art work through its gold plating. The singling out of a tree, the focussing on one tree, changes how one views the immediate area. A relationship develops between the viewer and the tree (the artistic work). The space in relation to the other trees is redefined and newly experienced, the construction of the trees are also re-perceived – in short the wood is re-experienced.

The piece was part of the exhibition "Zwischenräume" [Spaces] as part of forest week in the town wood, Geiersberg, Deggendorf, by the Art Association of Deggendorf in 2003.
