[1] "Who in the world thinks of differences in human movements such as sitting, standing, walking, and running? It could be a scholar of cultural anthropology, osteopath, stylist, or designer. If it were an artist, that person might be choreographing dance or performances for expressing the body as a medium. However, Dagmar Pachtner, an artist dealing with images and installations, isn't any of them. In her body-related works, she looks at the subject from different perspectives; historical, sociological, ecological, etc., and puts those processes not into research works but into artworks.
To Pachtner, the main motif is not the theme itself but methodologies, that is, how to approach the theme. In addition, the control of classical elements in artworks, such as color, light and shadow, and spatial arrangement is involved in her works. Looking at her works in this perspective, we understand that they originate from her wide interests and are based on classical aesthetic values."
