[4] One can understand its principle of dialogue due to their human size, the open grouping and the portraits. One is confronted with an individual and can experience the relationship with the victim in a special way. This is in contrast to lists of hundreds or even thousands of names, the viewer can see an actual victim of National Socialism. A spontaneous feeling of sympathy is quickly generated. But to find out more self initiative is required: The short explanation which can help but more likely do harm, is deliberately missing.
