[5] The most pure and strictest formulation of the artist work, "Part of a Memory", where in a strict, almost minimalist series the physical present of the substance takes on form and presents itself for questioning. Oil and wax, earth and clay, water and grass: 'natural symbols of a natural world. The known nature stands naked before us and is in it's banal taboos robbed and uncovered ...'
She reminds us that when it comes to the development of experience, feelings and memories naturally come before other knowledge. Jannis Kounellis said this simple material "holds a memory and for this reason contains a future". Therefore, Dagmar Pachtner´s objects posses a historical or temporal dimension. They contain the stored layers of time, which every experience needs: the experience of a collective unconsciousness, a personal subjectivity and the cycle of perpetual rebirth.
